MTA used to share a single elevator with students dorming at YU. My friends and I would occasionally get up to harmless mischief. We made a game out of taking the elevator up to the roof level and putting put a chair in the door to prop it open and prevent it from operating. Then, we’d run back down the stairs to floor level and see how long the line of irritated YU students waiting for the elevator would get before someone caught on that it wasn’t coming and take the stairs. I think our high score was 15.
